Duties
- Measure customers accurately to determine tailoring needs and ensure optimal fit
- Operate sewing machines efficiently to assemble, alter, or repair garments with precision
- Construct garments from patterns or sketches, paying close attention to detail and quality standards
- Provide exceptional customer service by advising clients on alterations and fitting options
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and uphold quality standards
- Inspect finished garments for defects or inconsistencies before delivery to customers
Requirements
- Proven experience in sewing, garment construction, or tailoring within a fashion retail setting
- Proficiency with sewing machines and various stitching techniques
- Strong understanding of garment fitting, fabric types, and sewing patterns
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Basic math skills for measurements, pattern adjustments, and calculations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of fashion trends and retail operations is a plus but not required
