Responsibilities
- Use sewing machines and hand stitching techniques to construct, alter, and repair garments according to specified measurements and designs
- Follow detailed sewing patterns and technical specifications to produce high-quality clothing items
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sewing workspace and equipment
- Communicate effectively with team members and customers to clarify design details or alterations needed
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines
- Assist in inventory management of sewing supplies and materials
Skills
- Proven experience in garment construction and sewing techniques
- Proficiency with sewing machines and hand stitching tools
- Strong understanding of fashion retail standards and customer service principles
- Ability to interpret patterns, technical drawings, and measurements accurately
- Basic math skills for measuring fabric, taking measurements, and calculating adjustments
