Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Seamstress/Tailor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent sewing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to complete sewing projects accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Perform alterations, repairs, and custom fittings on a variety of garments including clothing, curtains, and linens.
Take accurate measurements and consult with clients to understand their specific needs and preferences.
Interpret and follow sewing patterns, designs, and instructions to produce high-quality finished products.
Operate and maintain sewing machines, sergers, and other equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Collaborate with designers, stylists, and other team members to ensure the timely completion of sewing projects.
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and make any necessary adjustments or repairs.
Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used on each project.
Stay updated on current fashion trends, techniques, and technologies related to sewing and tailoring.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a seamstress, tailor, or similar role.
Proficiency in operating sewing machines, sergers, and other sewing equipment.
Strong knowledge of sewing techniques, fabrics, and garment construction.
Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Creativity and problem-solving abilities.
Vocational training or certification in sewing or tailoring is a plus.
This is a contractor position. You get 50% of each project. Flexible hours. Most sewing equipment and supplies provided.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 – $50.00 per hour
