Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tailor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fashion and a strong understanding of garment construction. As a Tailor, you will be responsible for fitting, altering, repairing, and customizing garments to meet the specific needs of our customers. Your expertise in sewing techniques and customer service will ensure that each client leaves satisfied with their tailored experience.
Duties
Perform alterations on various types of garments, including dresses, suits, and casual wear.
Utilize sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to execute precise adjustments and repairs.
Collaborate with customers to understand their specific tailoring needs and preferences.
Measure clients accurately to ensure proper fit and comfort.
Provide recommendations on style adjustments based on current fashion trends.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are readily available.
Uphold high standards of quality control throughout the tailoring process.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, and Saturdays, and the some days after the holidays, based upon store and business needs
Maintain a clean, organized and stocked work area and inform a Leader when additional supplies are needed.
Flexible with hours as they may fluctuate seasonally based upon business need.
Knowledgeable of computers to process orders and payments.
Keep work space clean and presentable.
Work in team when needed.
Record all work and follow through on the alteration log.
Record required alterations and instructions.
Qualifications
Proven experience in sewing and garment construction is essential.
Familiarity with fashion retail is preferred but not required.
Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients and address their needs.
Proficiency in operating various sewing machines and tools.
Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations related to garment alterations.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Being able to speak and understand some Spanish.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 – $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
