Petit Clair is a children’s fashion brand known for timeless style, quality craftsmanship, and attention to detail. As a direct-to-consumer clothing brand with a growing online presence and 8 retail locations, we are seeking an experienced Senior Apparel Designer to help lead the creative development of seasonal collections and contribute to the continued evolution of the brand.
This role is ideal for a highly creative and technically skilled designer who can own product categories, mentor junior team members, and confidently partner cross-functionally from concept through production.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of seasonal collections aligned with brand identity and market trends
- Create and oversee mood boards, sketches, technical drawings, and detailed spec sheets
- Source and select fabrics, trims, washes, and materials that align with the brand vision and margin goals
- Collaborate closely with product development and production teams from concept through final sample approval
- Drive trend research, color forecasting, and competitive market analysis
- Lead fittings and make design adjustments to ensure fit, quality, and construction standards
- Present seasonal concepts and product direction to leadership and internal teams
- Support and mentor junior designers or cross-functional partners where needed
- Ensure timelines, approvals, and product execution stay on track throughout development
Qualifications
- Degree in Fashion Design or related field
- 5+ years of apparel design experience within a fashion brand environment
- Strong experience designing children’s wear, womenswear, or related categories
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator and Photoshop
- Strong understanding of garment construction, technical development, fabrics, and fit
- Ability to balance creativity with commercial product development
- Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills
- Experience working directly with overseas factories and managing development timelines
