Overview:
Working with a leading transit and transportation company, that is looking for a Sr. Buyer for their Buffalo Grove location!
To note, this role is an on-site role at their Buffalo Grove location.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for purchases made by the organization.
Evaluates and approves vendors and authorizes purchase orders for goods or services.
Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
Reviews requisitions.
Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items. Selects suppliers with Supply Chain Manager based on criteria such as quality certification, capacity analysis, financial analysis, etc.
Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in area of specialty
4+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Knowledge of MRP systems (Oracle preferred).
Buying experience in the manufacturing or adjacent industry highly preferred
