We are looking for a Senior Buyer specializing in imports and strategic sourcing to join our team in Baldwin Park, California. In this contract position with the potential for a permanent role, you will oversee procurement, vendor management, and pricing strategies while ensuring supply chain efficiency and cost competitiveness. This role requires a proactive approach to vendor negotiations, logistics coordination, and cross-functional collaboration to support a fast-paced distribution environment.
Responsibilities:
• Create and manage purchase orders based on inventory needs, demand forecasts, and sales trends.
• Collaborate with domestic and international vendors to place and oversee production orders.
• Conduct cost analysis and negotiate vendor pricing to ensure competitive structures.
• Coordinate import activities, including customs compliance, freight forwarding, and container tracking.
• Resolve shipment delays and documentation discrepancies with customs brokers and logistics partners.
• Monitor inventory levels, track shipment statuses, and address issues impacting supply continuity.
• Develop and manage customer pricing models, ensuring profitability and market competitiveness.
• Maintain accurate product data, including new item setups and artwork coordination for packaging.
• Analyze purchasing reports and forecasts to identify risks such as stockouts or excess inventory.
• Implement process improvements to enhance sourcing, logistics, and pricing operations.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing.
• Proficiency in managing vendor relationships and negotiating pricing with multiple suppliers.
• Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and logistics coordination.
• Advanced skills in inventory forecasting and supply chain management.
• Expertise in Excel for building pricing models, margin calculations, and cost analysis.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems for purchasing activities.
• Ability to analyze and improve processes within purchasing and supply chain functions.
• Spanish language skills are a plus for international vendor communication.
