Role Overview
Josh Hair and Beauty Salon is looking for an experienced and creative Senior Hairstylist to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident stylist who can work independently, deliver high-quality hair services, and provide an outstanding client experience. You will play a key role in maintaining our reputation for professional, inclusive, and results‑driven haircare. This role offers a competitive salary plus uncapped commission, making it ideal for a stylist ready to grow their client base and maximise their earning potential.
Key Responsibilities
You must be confident in providing a wide range of professional salon services, including:
- Silk presses
- Blow dries and styling
- Precision haircuts, trims and shaping
- Hair colouring (tints, highlights and bespoke colour work)
- Texture release treatments
- Relaxers
- Hair and scalp treatments
- Wig installs and maintenance (desirable but not essential)
You will also:
- Provide professional consultations and recommend suitable services and aftercare
- Manage your daily appointment schedule efficiently
- Maintain accurate service timings
- Follow strict hygiene and sanitation protocols before and after every client
Expectations
- Punctuality and reliability are essential
- Deliver exceptional customer service and client care
- Maintain a polished and professional presentation
- Handle client queries and concerns confidently
- Take ownership of your workspace, cleanliness and time management
- Follow all health & safety and salon standards
Required Skills & Qualities
- Minimum 3 years salon experience as a hairstylist
- Strong experience with natural and chemically treated hair
- Confident in cutting, colouring and heat styling
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to manage and grow your own client base
- Positive, professional and team-focused attitude
