Job Summary:
The ideal candidate has a deep network in the sports world, an elevated creative sensibility, and the ability to execute complex initiatives across regions and categories. Reporting to the SVP of Marketing, this role will serve as a key connector across all brand teams and regional functions to ensure consistent and culturally resonant storytelling through the lens of sport.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Sports Marketing Strategy
Develop and own the global sports marketing vision, aligning with brand DNA and growth priorities.
Create and oversee strategic frameworks for all athlete partnerships, sports sponsorships, and collaborative campaigns.
Define and drive the brand’s role in sports culture across lifestyle, performance, and fashion spaces.
Athlete Partnerships & Sponsorships
Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with athletes, teams, and sports properties that authentically align with each brand’s ethos.
Collaborate with legal, PR, and regional teams to structure deals that deliver long-term value and engagement.
Lead the execution of campaigns and content involving talent, ensuring alignment with both brand and athlete narratives.
Creative Direction & Activations
Lead concept development and creative storytelling for all sports-related campaigns, collaborations, and content.
Partner with in-house and external creative teams to develop high-impact, cross-channel activations—from global launches to grassroots initiatives.
Ensure all creative output tied to sport reflects elevated aesthetic, cultural relevance, and business objectives.
Cross-Functional & Cross-Brand Leadership
Collaborate with marketing, PR, product, digital, retail, and regional teams to ensure global alignment and seamless execution.
Work across all brands under the company portfolio to adapt and scale strategies appropriately based on audience and positioning.
Serve as the central liaison between global HQ and regional marketing teams on all sports marketing efforts.
Collaboration & Innovation
Partner with Product and Design to bring athlete feedback and sport-driven insights into seasonal development and capsule collections.
Cultivate new opportunities for co-branded projects, athlete-designed collections, and culturally relevant sponsorships.
Leverage key cultural moments (e.g. Olympics, World Cup, NBA All-Star, etc.) to create breakthrough brand touchpoints.
Qualifications:
8–12+ years of experience in sports marketing, brand partnerships, or creative direction within fashion, footwear, sportswear, or lifestyle industries.
Proven track record of managing global athlete partnerships, sponsorships, and creative campaigns from concept to execution.
Deep understanding of both global and regional sports markets and cultural trends.
Exceptional creative sensibility and brand acumen; ability to translate vision into high-impact marketing.
Skilled collaborator who can lead cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong network across sports leagues, agents, athletes, and creative communities.
Experience managing complex budgets and contract negotiations.
Salary $140,000-$170,000
