Job Definition (Key Purpose of the Job) :

Responsible for the development, execution and delivery of the revenue and margin plans for Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific Distributors including the Strategic Partners in line with company budgets and forecasts. Functionally responsible for APD in Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific and focus on Strategic & Major key accounts. Introducing best practices, establish, build and implement the APD Center of Excellence.

This position will drive the key strategic thinking for developing our distributor markets across Southeast Asia & Asia Pacific with a view to elevating our brand presence & driving brand penetration & growth.

This role will also be the single point of contact for all our Licensing initiatives, discussions & revenues going forward for all APAC.

It will also be part of the Vans leadership team (RVMT) and help drive the overall business strategy, play a key role in developing & building the brand culture

Key Result Areas:

Asia Pacific Distributors

Manage and strengthen relationships with existing partners to build Vans Brand whilst maximizing sales and gross margin for the Company.

Involve in new market development, contract renewals and negotiation to ensure sustainable business growth and profitability.

Responsible for the planning and analysis of all annual wholesale & distributor business plans.

Leading role in maintaining and enforcing contractual compliance of all distributor partners in the Region. Address contractual compliance issues directly with partners and where necessary, elevate them to a higher management level, including the Legal team.

Travel to the markets to address business issues, identify channel opportunities and assist with all brand building activities.

Engages and manages effective programs to coach, appraise and train the APD and support team.

Work closely with internal functional teams (Marketing, Merchandising, MP&A, Buying, and Supply Chain) and work with them to reach sales target.

Manage MO disposable and jobber.

Strategic Key Accounts

Responsible to drive on-going strategic direction & initiatives as well as define future initiatives to optimize Operating Model and R&R which will support the continued growth.

Drive multiple cross functional activities focused around driving consistency and operational excellence.

Will also help build partnership for our platform with Strategic Accounts to ensure alignment with VF Strategy

Manage the cultivation, development and maintenance of relationships and partnerships with Key Accounts – House Accounts, Energy Doors both new and existing.

Center of Excellence

Build Distribution talent; internal and external pipelines of high caliber, culturally diverse talent to meet the needs of the business with regards to succession and workforce planning.

Set up Best in Class systems and or processes for Distributor business in Asia

Experience

The ideal candidate would be someone who has more than 10 years’ management experience in the footwear, apparel/fashion, accessories with sales operations, and recent business unit or general management experience with full P&L responsibility. In addition, the new individual would be expected to have the following experience and skills:

Strong understanding and experience of the wholesale sales process is crucial.

Strong business and financial acumen.
