Job Summary

Manage a team of accountants to handle daily finance and accounting matters, including schedules, month-end closing, process improvements across maisons and markets. Work closely with the business planning & control teams for closing and variance analysis. Support Head of Finance & Accounting and together with the rest of the team on process documentation and enhancements, including but not limited to those relate to finance systems

Role & Responsibilities

Lead a small team and outsourcing teams in managing daily end-to-end accounting operations in multiple APAC locations

Accountable for timely and accurate month-end and period-end financial closing in accordance with applicable accounting standards

Monitor updates in accounting standards, group policies and local legislation to create awareness among the team and standardization across regions.

Be the key point of contact with the business planning & control team for month-end closing as to understand prospective landings with identified risks and opportunities

Act as focal point of all internal and external auditors and tax agents and ensure compliance with all financial and regulatory requirements, including tax filings, transfer pricing documentations and audit requirements

Responsible in reviewing financial statements and tax returns prepared by tax agents, as well as leading the timely submission of deliverables to local authorities

Take charge in treasury functions and cash management, including merchant acquisition, cash flow management, relationship building with bankers, bank signatories update and responding to banker’ inquiries/KYC

Drive process improvements and digitization initiatives by working closely with the project teams that may involve multiple stakeholders such as F&A, IS&T and others

Identity ways to improve the day-to-day processes, and provide suggestions on efficiency and effectiveness enhancements

Monitor and motivate team performance, provide necessary training and coaching to the team and review team deliverables

Assist Head of Financial Accounting and Reporting to plan out the right level of resources to meet with future business growth and reporting statutory demand

Undertake special assignment, ad hoc assignment & related duties as and when necessary

Requirements

University graduate in major of Finance/Accounting, professionally qualified preferred

8 to 10 years of relevant experience with at least 4 years with supervisory responsibility

Solid expertise / operational know-how of all finance processes (AP, AR, GL, inventory accounting, etc) and understanding of market specificities

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic and high intensity environment

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines while maintaining good quality of deliverables

Attention to details, willing to hand-on, self-motivating with continuous improvement mindset.

High level of dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

Strong leadership, problem solving and interpersonal skills to deal with various stakeholders and drive changes

Proficiency in written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin

Retail, FMCG and Fashion industry preferred; experience working in Shared Service Center is an advantage

Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus

Candidates with less experience will be considered as Finance Manager
