Job Type: Freelance / Part-Time
Schedule: 2–3 days per week

We are launching a new premium women’s clothing line and are looking for a highly experienced Senior Freelance Fashion Designer to help lead the creative direction, seasonal concept development, and overall design process.
We are seeking someone with a refined aesthetic, strong market awareness, and a proven background in women’s contemporary or premium apparel. This role requires a designer who can translate inspiration and trend direction into elevated, commercially successful pieces while maintaining a cohesive brand identity.
The ideal candidate should have strong fabric knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with design, production, and sales teams from concept through final product.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design direction for a new premium women’s apparel line
- Develop seasonal concepts, mood boards, color palettes, and collection direction
- Research and forecast current market trends, silhouettes, fabrics, and details
- Create original designs that are elevated, modern, and commercially viable
- Prepare sketches, CADs, tech packs, and design presentations as needed
- Guide fabric, trim, color, print, and detail selection
- Work closely with production to ensure design intent, fit, quality, and construction are properly executed
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand market feedback and customer needs
- Manage the design process from concept development through final samples
- Assist in building a cohesive brand identity for the new line
- Travel internationally as needed for sourcing, product development, or production
Requirements
- 7+ years of women’s apparel design experience required
- Fashion design degree required
- Strong background in contemporary, premium, or high-end women’s apparel
- Strong understanding of fit, garment construction, fabric, trims, and finishing
- Excellent trend forecasting and market research ability
- Ability to create elevated designs with strong commercial potential
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and design/CAD tools
- Experience creating tech packs and communicating with production teams
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Portfolio required
Preferred
- Bilingual in English and Korean preferred, but not required
- Experience working with overseas factories or international vendors
- Los Angeles-based preferred

Compensation will be determined based on experience, skill level, and project scope.
