We are seeking a Senior Manager Men’s Product Development, to join the Orvis Team! This is a remote role with an expectation of a minimum of 6 trips to Southern Vermont per year for our Design Development Review cadence. International travel 1-2x/year also expected.
As a Senior Manager Men’s Product Development, you will play a pivotal role in leading our apparel transformation. You will be responsible for the product development of our largest mens apparel categories (knits, wovens and sweaters) well as managing 1-2 direct reports who will own the development of additional subcategories. You will be vital in helping to lead the flawless execution of our Men’s apparel product, celebrating our authenticity and heritage, and inspiring our team and our customers with unique, high quality, elevated products. You will partner with our Product Leadership Team to create clear roles and responsibilities, define our new processes, and lead us to a faster product-to-market process.

Position Interfaces:
This position reports to our Vice President of Product Development, Sourcing and Technical Design. This role leads the development of our largest Men’s product categories, as well as 1-2 Associates. This role partners very closely with our Merchandising, Design, Technical Design, Planning, and Sourcing Teams.
Responsibilities:
Develop high quality apparel products that will delight and inspire our customers while managing high SKU and cc counts across men’s knits, wovens, and sweaters.
Create and lead a customer-obsessed Product Development team.
Lead a culture of partnership, communication, and collaboration with our cross functional teams including Merchandising, Design Technical Design, Planning and Sourcing.
Create relationships across our categories in Fish, Hunt and Dog to ensure we deliver a One Orvis experience for our customers.
Coach the PD Team, provide consistent and candid feedback to ensure great partnership and collaboration with cross functional partners. Guide team to have effective communication and influence in order to deliver inspired, unique products while also helping lead flawless execution.
Help establish new roles and responsibilities across Orvis Product team.
Ensure flawless execution of fit in partnership with our Technical Design Team partners prior to bulk production.
Responsible for managing end- to- end sample development process and calendar timeline related to fabric R&D, proto creation, and readying styles for commercialization and bulk production.
Partner closely with Design, Technical Design and Sourcing Team on pre-costing process at proto stage to ensure accurate cost estimates are achievable and meet and/or exceed target cost.
