VMI Senior Merchandise Analyst
This unique role offers the opportunity to manage a large retail business from style inception to consumer. The position handles both the retail and wholesale portion of a fashion footwear business. The role of Merchandise Analyst is responsible for understanding the detailed needs of our retail partner’s business through analytical skills, strong collaboration, and customer system navigation. Self-motivation and an entrepreneurial attitude for a global brand is key to this role.
Role And Responsibilities
Achieve Gross Margin & Sales expectations set forth by the department plan through the management of sales, markdowns, receipts, and assortment plan
Partner and collaborate with the Director on all aspects of business using clear and concise communication to achieve goals
Analyze on-going business of sales and strategies for total business and by-door allocations
Maintain, enter, and manage seasonal orders & reorders
Create seasonal purchases ensuring accuracy
Manage markdowns by implementing selections that drive sales and limit liability, keeping in line with North American strategy
Assist in forecasting for future product to create strong seasonal assortments with limited product liability and maximizing profits
Manage shipments from supplier to retailer to ensure timely delivery and appropriate seasonal store depth
Communicate all logistical needs to merchants and facilitate changes securing timely inventory receipts that align with the OTB
Maintain all Dillard’s system setup to ensure accuracy including : Write copy, item setup, PO creation, & keying markdowns
Requirements
Previous sales or buying experience preferred
Self-motivated, ambitious attitude, and detail oriented
Thrives in fast paced environment
Ability to analyze sales trends, forecast, and draw conclusions
Comfortable working in manual systems and advanced planning tools
Able to work in office 4x a week
Proficient in Excel
