Stark Scalamandré is seeking to hire a Showroom Sales Representative with experience selling to the trades (Interior Designers, Architects, Trades Professionals) for our Chicago, IL showroom.

Responsibilities:

Engage in proactive client outreach, leveraging market insights and professional acumen to schedule consultations with prospective clients.

Provide expert guidance in the selection and specification of luxury custom and stock textiles, wallcoverings, trimmings, and furnishings for diverse design projects.

Maintain Scalamandré’s esteemed standard of service, offering a sophisticated experience to our discerning clientele.

Manage and execute sales documentation processes to facilitate successful transactions.

Contribute to the aesthetic upkeep of the showroom through thoughtful displays and merchandising.

Act as the welcoming ambassador of the showroom, adeptly handling client greetings, phone inquiries, and directional assistance.

Execute transactional processes, oversee credit card operations, and offer comprehensive support to the sales team.

Efficiently manage essential operational tasks, ensuring the smooth functioning of daily showroom activities.

Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Must possess a strong interest in the interior design trade as well as interpersonal, communication and computer skills.

Must possess advanced knowledge of fabric qualities, attributes and manufacturing techniques.

B.A. / B.S. Degree preferably in Interior Design or related field and a minimum 2 years fabric sales “to the trade” experience or a minimum of 5 years fabric sales “to the trade” experience in lieu of the aforementioned educational requirements.
