Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Silk Screen Printer specializing in water-based inks to join our creative production team. This role involves preparing and executing high-quality screen printing projects, ensuring vibrant and durable prints on various substrates. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of color application, and experience in water-based screen printing techniques. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate silk screen printing equipment for water-based inks, ensuring precise registration and color accuracy.
- Prepare screens by designing, exposing, and reclaiming as needed, utilizing digital design tools.
- Mix and match water-based inks to achieve desired colors, maintaining consistency across projects.
- Monitor print quality during production runs, making adjustments to maintain high standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper cleaning of screens and equipment after each use.
- Collaborate with the design team to interpret artwork specifications and translate them into print-ready formats.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to screen tension, ink flow, or registration problems promptly.
- Assist in developing new print techniques or designs using graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign.
Skills
- Proficiency in digital design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with motion graphics or web design is a plus.
- Strong understanding of graphic design principles, typography, color theory, and visual aesthetics.
- Experience with screen printing processes specifically water-based inks; knowledge of screen preparation and reclamation is essential.
- Ability to interpret artwork files accurately and prepare them for production.
- Knowledge of layout design, illustration, and print advertising is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS or 3D animation tools like Maya or SketchUp is beneficial but not required.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality control during the printing process.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
