The Social Media + Community Manager is responsible for bringing the JOSIE MARAN brand to life across social platforms and community touchpoints every day. Reporting to the Director of Social, Cultural Content & Community Strategy, this role will help execute a social-first content and community strategy that drives engagement, builds emotional connection, and transforms audiences into active brand advocates.

Equal parts content creator, community builder, and cultural observer, this person will manage the daily rhythm of social publishing, community engagement, trend responsiveness, and creator interaction while helping ensure the brand shows up online in a way that feels culturally relevant, emotionally resonant, and unmistakably JOSIE MARAN.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Social Content Execution

  • Execute daily social publishing across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms
  • Create and edit social-first content optimized for engagement, conversation, and shareability
  • Translate campaign concepts into platform-native storytelling formats
  • Support the development of short-form video, reactive content, trend participation, and community-driven storytelling
  • Assist in building content calendars that balance launches, evergreen storytelling, trends, founder moments, and community participation
  • Partner closely with Creative to ensure content feels modern, elevated, culturally aware, and platform-appropriate
  • Support lightweight content capture for events, shoots, founder moments, retail activations, and behind-the-scenes storytelling

Community Management & Engagement

  • Own day-to-day community engagement across social channels
  • Respond to comments, DMs, tagged content, and community conversations in a timely, thoughtful, and brand-aligned way
  • Help cultivate a warm, inclusive, highly engaged online community experience
  • Identify opportunities to deepen audience participation through conversation starters, UGC, creator engagement, and community interaction
  • Build relationships with loyal customers, creators, and emerging brand advocates
  • Monitor community sentiment and surface recurring themes, feedback, and insights to internal teams

Trend & Cultural Monitoring

  • Stay deeply immersed in social trends, platform behavior, internet culture, and emerging content formats
  • Identify reactive and real-time content opportunities that align with the brand voice and values
  • Support social listening efforts to understand audience interests, sentiment shifts, and cultural conversations
  • Bring fresh, culturally relevant ideas to weekly content and campaign planning

Creator & Community Support

  • Support creator and influencer partnerships through social amplification and engagement
  • Assist in managing creator content workflows, approvals, and publishing coordination
  • Help identify creators and community voices that authentically align with the brand
  • Engage with creator content and help foster long-term community relationships

Reporting & Insights

  • Track and report on key social and community metrics including engagement, reach, shares, saves, sentiment, and audience growth
  • Help identify patterns and performance insights to inform future content decisions
  • Contribute to ongoing testing and optimization across content formats and platforms

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–5+ years experience in social media, community management, content creation, or digital marketing
  • Experience working within beauty, lifestyle, wellness, fashion, or consumer brands preferred
  • Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and evolving social platforms
  • Deep familiarity with internet culture, social behavior, and platform trends
  • Excellent written communication and brand voice instincts
  • Comfortable creating and editing mobile-first content
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly collaborative, proactive, creative, and adaptable
  • Passion for beauty, wellness, sustainability, and community-driven brands

Compensation: $85k-$100k plus bonus and equity
