Job ResponsibilitiesThis role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end process of product development, from sourcing for manufacturers to overseeing production and ensuring quality control. This role requires a keen understanding of the fashion industry, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with manufacturers and internal teams.
Sourcing: Identify and establish relationships with reliable suppliers for raw materials, fabrics, trims, and accessories.
Product Development: Lead the development of new products from concept to production, ensuring alignment with brand vision, market trends, and quality standards.
Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and negotiate pricing with suppliers to achieve competitive pricing while maintaining quality.
Supplier Management: Manage supplier relationships, including negotiating contracts, monitoring performance, and resolving any issues that may arise.
Quality Control: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control standards throughout the production process to ensure consistency and meet customer expectations.
Timeline Management: Coordinate production timelines and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of products while managing any potential delays or obstacles.
Collaboration: Work closely with design, merchandising, and production teams to translate creative concepts into feasible product designs and specifications.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, including safety, environmental, and ethical sourcing practices.
Pre-Requisites
Proven experience in sourcing and product development within the apparel or soft merchandize industry.
Strong knowledge of fabrications, construction techniques, and manufacturing processes.
Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Excel
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Understanding of sustainability and ethical sourcing practices is desirable.
Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.
