As they continue to grow, we are looking for a Sourcing Director with a strong background in buying and garment development to lead the sourcing strategy, ensuring they secure the best materials, manufacturers, and pricing while maintaining the brand’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a strategic sourcing and buying plan that aligns with the brand’s vision and commercial objectives.
Source high-quality fabrics, trims, and components that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements for each collection.
Oversee garment development from concept to production, ensuring designs translate seamlessly from sketches to final products.
Evaluate and select manufacturers, factories, and suppliers, ensuring the highest standards of quality, fit, and finishing.
Manage cost negotiations, lead-time planning, and order placements to optimize margins while maintaining product integrity.
Work closely with the design, technical, and production teams to ensure garments meet brand standards in terms of fit, construction, and durability.
Implement sustainable and ethical sourcing practices that align with industry best practices and corporate social responsibility goals.
Conduct fabric and trim testing, quality control inspections, and risk assessments to mitigate production issues.
Stay ahead of industry trends, innovations in fabric technology, and supplier developments to enhance sourcing efficiency.
Lead and mentor a sourcing team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and problem-solving.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in garment sourcing, buying, and development, preferably in womenswear.
Strong technical understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and fabric behavior.
Deep knowledge of material sourcing, textile development, and production processes.
Proven track record of successfully negotiating costs and managing supplier relationships.
A strong network of trusted factories, mills, and manufacturers globally.
Commercially driven mindset with the ability to balance creativity with business goals.
Experience in sustainable and ethical sourcing is highly desirable.
Ability to travel as needed to suppliers, factories, and trade fairs.
