About the role
Setu Spa Consulting is seeking an experienced and passionate Spa Trainer to join our team in Denpasar, Bali. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in developing and enhancing the skills of our spa professionals. As a Spa Trainer, you will be responsible for designing and delivering comprehensive training programmes preparing junior and senior therapists for roles abroad.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and deliver comprehensive spa training programmes covering massage techniques, skincare treatments, wellness therapies and customer service excellence
- Assess the current skill levels of spa staff and create personalised development plans to address training needs
- Conduct practical hands-on training sessions in massage, facial treatments, body therapies and other spa services
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to spa professionals to improve service delivery and technique proficiency
- Create and maintain training materials, manuals, videos and resources to support continuous learning
- Evaluate trainee progress through practical assessments and provide constructive feedback
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging spa techniques and best practices in wellness and hospitality
- Collaborate with spa management to identify training gaps and develop solutions
- Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure consistent application of training in daily operations
- Organise and lead workshops and seminars for professional development and certification
- Ability to travel abroad for short stints
What we’re looking for
- Minimum 2 years of experience in spa training
- Kind, compassionate and patient nature
- Advanced knowledge of spa treatments, massage techniques (Balinese, Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, etc.) and skincare/ facial protocols
- Proven experience designing and delivering effective training programmes to diverse groups
- Strong teaching and communication skills with the ability to explain complex techniques in a clear and accessible manner
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously
- Certification in spa therapy, massage therapy or equivalent professional qualification
- Experience working in luxury spa environments or high-end hospitality settings (preferred)
- Knowledge of Indonesian spa traditions and wellness practices (preferred)
- Fluency in English;
Indonesian language skills are advantageous - Passion for wellness, personal development and helping others achieve professional excellence
- Ability to work collaboratively with spa teams whilst maintaining professional standards
- Ability to pass Indonesian Government competency in Spa Training
- Able to legally work in Indonesia
Salary will be based on experience as a Spa Trainer
