My client, a progressive ingredient manufacturing company in Skokie, IL is seeking a Sr. Buyer to join their dynamic team.
Sr. Buyer, Ingredients – Reporting to the Sr. Procurement Manager, this position will be responsible for the procurement of raw materials while supporting the execution of strategies. This position will have interaction with suppliers, co-manufacturing companies, customers and cross-functional teams. The Sr. Buyer will be an integral part of driving improvements and resolving supply chain issues.
Manage a $20M spend of ingredients
Manage inventory costs to ensure goals are met
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and co-manufacturers
Monitor market trends to optimize purchasing decisions
Be proactive in communicating challenges and supply chain concerns
Implement and manage PO’s and stock arrangements
The ideal candidate:
Bachelor’s degree is required
4+ years of experience in a procurement role with a food ingredient manufacturer
Strong knowledge of the supply chain process, planning and procurement strategies
Strong negotiation skills and experience with cost reduction initiatives
Strong presentation skills
Strong analytical skills
Experience working with ERP/MRP and Microsoft Office

This is a hybrid schedule – 2 days work from home.
Base salary range: $80-110k
