Job Summary/Purposes
The Store Director is of paramount importance to reach the business goals assigned to the store and is responsible for the relevant Store’s results. The Store Director is a professional in the fashion industry and a Sales expert who has the ability to live the local environment by promoting brand loyalty to customers in the luxury goods sector and in particular to the local clients. He/she represents the Brand and is a proactive Sales professional who operates according to the policies set by the Company and aimed to ensure that the Store is efficiently run. By leveraging his/her market knowledge, he/she suggests to Retail Merchandising the products’ needs.
Responsibilities
Sales
- Is constantly up to date regarding fashion trends, is point of reference for both clients and colleagues. Knows and monitors the Fashion and Arts world at national and international level.
- Informs the Area Manager and the remaining Retail Departments about any relevant information concerning the Market.
- Deals directly and effectively with the most important clients.
- Reflects the corporate image in terms of grooming, language and behaviors and ensures that the Staff is also aligned.
- Guarantees excellent customer welcome and supervises sales to ensure customer satisfaction and that the qualitative standards required by our brand are maintained.
- Guarantees efficient management and problem solving for all sensitive cases and for any claims which may happen during the Sales process.
Public Relations
- Collects all relevant information useful for a better market’s knowledge (i.e.: info on local hotels, clubs, celebrities and habits), helping to build solid relationship with whom can increase the customers traffic in the Store.
- Collaborates with Retail Events Department to organize local events.
- Selects Personal Shoppers, whenever foreseen, and sets up collaborations by following corporate guidelines.
Store Staff
- Supports the HR Department and the Area Manager in the Store Staff scouting and selection process.
- Build the team coordinating its activities in order to make sure that each team member is always motivated and competent.
- Thanks to his/her knowledge of corporate values and guidelines and by showing a significant commitment to the Company, he/she is a role model for the Staff.
- Defines a Morning Briefing’s Planning to be implemented in coordination with Assistant Store Manager and Department Managers.
- Ensures professional growth and training of the staff, by constantly stimulating them.
- Facilitates the solution of conflicts within the Store Team.
- Defines quantitative and qualitative objectives and ensures they are achieved by analyzing results, verifying monthly activities and setting up yearly assessments.
- Is responsible for the Store planning, organizes and plans activities ensuring that the available resources can manage the expected workload.
- Keeps staff informed at all times regarding Store performance.
- Makes sure that internal procedures are followed.
- Deals with administration and accounting responsibilities.
- Ensures enforcement of labor laws and commercial regulations with the support of the Headquarters.
- Applies all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of both Personnel and customers.
Product
- Knows market trends and main competitors.
- Has a full knowledge of merchandise in all the product’s categories.
- Liaises with Retail Merchandisers, providing suggestions on the best merchandise mix for his/her market.
- Provides timely and useful feedback on product to Retail Merchandiser.
Visual
- Ensures that the Store windows are always in good order and prepares product display strictly complying with the Company guidelines.
- Ensures that the Store image and product care are in line with corporate standards and that the Staff is made to feel responsible as well to maintain these standards.
Stockroom
- Monitors stocks, making sure that they are in line with the Store’s sales potential and accordingly provides feedback to the Area Manager and to the Retail Merchandising.
- Optimizes stockroom management in order to make sure that stocks are stored as efficiently as possible to ease the sales, in collaboration with the Store Operations.
- Takes any measures to guarantee the care of all valuable products and materials in the store, protecting the Company’ belongings in cooperation with the Stock Manager.
- Supervises, controls and manages all the activities about year-end, sector and rotation stock takes by product category in collaboration with Store Operations and he/ she is as well responsible for the results.
Procedures
- Conveys corporate policies and ensures their correct enforcement.
- Makes sure that the store surface is correctly covered and monitored in order to prevent possible thefts and losses.
- Liaises with the Area Manager to report and manage any loss (thefts of products, money, etc.).
- Makes sure that security procedures are correctly applied (management of store keys, secure the safe, etc.)
Reporting
- Produces and analyses the main reports on Sales, product, staff performance, CRM and stockroom.
- Provides the Area Manager with the store’s Monthly Report.
