Studio Khaled Barakeh is seeking an experienced Studio Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of the artist's practice. This is a freelance position based in Berlin, with primarily remote work and occasional in-person meetings and studio-related tasks within Berlin.

The Studio Coordinator works closely with Khaled Barakeh across administration, project management, communication, fundraising, finance, and production. The role requires someone who enjoys taking ownership, keeping multiple projects moving simultaneously, and working independently in an international arts environment.

Main Responsibilities

– Coordinate Khaled's calendar, meetings, travel and professional commitments

– Manage studio communications and correspondence

– Coordinate exhibitions, commissions and ongoing projects

– Prepare grant applications, reports and administrative documentation

– Handle invoicing, bookkeeping support and financial administration

– Coordinate contracts and liaise with institutions, galleries and partners

– Maintain and update the website, newsletter and communication channels

– Organise digital archives and studio documentation

– Research opportunities including grants, residencies and exhibitions

– Ensure deadlines are met and projects move forward efficiently

Profile

We are looking for someone who:

– Has several years of experience in arts administration, cultural management, artist studios or similar environments

– Is highly organised and able to manage multiple parallel projects

– Works independently and takes initiative

– Communicates professionally with institutions and international partners

– Has excellent written and spoken English. Has a good working knowledge of German. Arabic is considered a strong advantage

– Is confident working with digital tools and willing to learn new systems

– Is comfortable using AI tools such as ChatGPT as part of their workflow

– Has excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills

– Experience with Asana, Webflow, Mailchimp and basic bookkeeping is advantageous

Note

Applicants must be based in Berlin. While most work is carried out remotely, occasional in-person meetings and studio-related tasks within Berlin are required.
