This role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality throughout the garment development and production process while supporting the operational needs of the studio. This role oversees quality control procedures, coordinates inspections, maintains accurate technical and production documentation, conducts local fabric and trim sourcing, and collaborates closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure products meet the atelier’s standards of craftsmanship and excellence. The Studio Coordinator also researches and sources locally available fabrics, trims, and materials, ensuring that suitable options are identified while maintaining quality, cost efficiency, and production timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor quality control procedures to ensure consistent quality standards throughout all stages of production.

• Conduct inspections of raw materials, garments in progress, and finished products to verify compliance with atelier quality standards.

• Coordinate quality assurance activities, including fabric performance evaluations, garment fitting assessments, construction reviews, and finishing inspections.

• Identify, document, and communicate quality issues, ensuring timely corrective actions in collaboration with production and atelier teams.

• Monitor workmanship, measurements, finishing details, and overall garment presentation before final approval. • Studio Coordination : Coordinate the daily workflow between Design, Atelier, Production, Merchandising, and Logistics departments.

• Track garment samples, prototypes, and production pieces throughout the development process.

• Maintain organized records of material sheets, sample tracking, quality reports, and production documentation.

• Ensure collections, fittings, photoshoots, and presentations are prepared according to project timelines.

• Fabric Research & Local Sourcing

• Research and identify local suppliers for fabrics, trims, accessories, and production materials.

• Source suitable local fabrics that meet design specifications, quality expectations, budget requirements, and delivery deadlines.

• Maintain an updated supplier database, including pricing, lead times, and product availability.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with local vendors and conduct periodic supplier evaluations to ensure quality consistency.

• Stay informed about new materials, fabric innovations, and market trends to support future collections.

• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation related to quality inspections, supplier evaluations, material specifications, and production records.

• Prepare regular reports highlighting quality performance, production observations, sourcing activities, and improvement recommendations.

• Training & Development : Provide guidance and training to atelier and production teams on quality standards, inspection procedures, garment finishing, and best practices.

• Continuous Improvement :Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, quality performance, and operational workflows.

• Lead initiatives that enhance quality, reduce defects, minimize rework, and optimize production processes.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Design, Production Planning, Logistics, Purchasing, and Merchandising teams to ensure smooth coordination and timely project execution.

• Support the development process by ensuring materials, samples, and garments are available according to agreed timelines.

• Customer & Product Quality : Analyze customer feedback, alterations, returns, and recurring quality concerns to identify root causes and implement preventive actions.

• Contribute to maintaining the atelier’s reputation by ensuring every garment meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.

• Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Management, Textile Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a fashion atelier, luxury fashion house, garment production, or quality management.

• Strong knowledge of garment construction, textiles, luxury finishing techniques, and quality assurance practices.

• Experience in fabric sourcing, supplier management, and local market research is highly desirable.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.

• High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining exceptional quality standards.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP or PLM systems is an advantage.

• Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple priorities and tight production deadlines.
