SummaryThe primary purpose of the Stylist Associate is the aesthetic execution of all photography through product and prop selection. This position will collaborate with a photographer to create visual images that meet creative, marketing, and JOANN objectives. This individual has a unique understanding of current trends and stays abreast of new trends. This role operates within a fast-paced, ever-changing environment that requires multi-tasking and flexibility, while at the same time adhering to schedules to ensure project timelines are met.
Provide styling and creative vision in all aspects and levels of JOANN photography utilizing the JOANN photography style guide to produce photo assets for all of the advertising programs. Work closely with the creative leadership, design teams, photographers, and photo coordinator to produce the highest quality digital photography. Including but not limited to collecting the necessary materials and props from various suppliers, arranging objects in the desired fashion.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Make decisions regarding merchandise for photo shoots and ensuring that the product is displayed consistently with established JOANN style guides. Maintain current knowledge of our competition to ensure that our trends are up to date.
On set support including but not limited to planning pre-pro meetings, schedules and studio set up, prop shopping, building sets and catering. Make decisions on set regarding composition, angel lighting, product positioning, propping, etc.
Stay current on the design/fashion industry including global and consumer trends, assessing and communicating their potential impact to the business. Set the direction of JOANN imagery to ensure that these trends are presented effectively by regularly corresponding with the Photographer, Studio Manager, and Creative Director.
Study and Identify with the JOANN brand and customer. Spends time in the JOANN stores to better understand the customer and how to reach her/him.
Collaborate with the creative, strategy, and merchant team to deliver consistent high quality and on brand product photography aligned with JOANN goals, as well as lending your point of view on ways to improve and further build our brand.

Education & Experience
Education Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising/Marketing, Fashion, Photography, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or Visual Communication required
Experience Minimum: 2 to 4 years of previous work experience and training under an established photographer or studio. Mac User, proficient in Microsoft Office (excel), and experience with Adobe Creative Suite
Experience Preferred: Experience with an emphasis on natural talent and creativity. Experience working in retail
