Job Summary
Responsible for styling, cleaning, and maintaining wigs, eyebrows, beards, mustaches, and related hair costumes, ensuring adherence to approved designs and standards. Includes cutting, cleaning, styling, and working with adhesive applications for hairpieces. Maintains the creative integrity of each design.
Job Responsibilities
Constructs, repairs, restyles, and prepares wigs and hairpieces for costumes, including cutting and tying.
Follows schedules for maintenance, monitors inventory, documents all items, and maintains a clean, safe workspace.
Assists in training performers in wig and hairpiece application and removal, ensuring design integrity.
Participates in fittings and makes necessary alterations.
Applies and maintains prosthetic hair and lace pieces, including removal and cleaning.
Supports wig and hair needs for PR, marketing, seasonal, and special events.
Follows environmental, health, and safety policies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience and proficiency in wig styling, cutting, ventilating, and maintenance.
Knowledge of materials used in wig and prosthetic hair creation and maintenance.
Experience with fitting and repairing lace wigs.
Ability to teach techniques and provide excellent customer service.
Knowledge of period and contemporary hairstyles.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly.
Flexible schedule based on business needs.
Ability to perform essential duties with reasonable accommodations.
Reliable attendance.
Certifications & Licenses
Nevada OSHA 10 and Cosmetology license are required.
Education
Cosmetology License required;
Degree in Theatre or Film is a plus.
Experience
At least 3 years in wig styling and maintenance, theatrical experience preferred.
