We are seeking a medical aesthetician who excels at delivering a personalized, world‑class, and caring experience for our patients in a fast‑paced dermatology practice. Aestheticians are licensed professionals who perform skincare services and provide consultations for facial treatments, chemical peels, dermabrasion, and hair removal.
An aesthetician’s job duties include evaluating skin conditions and recommending appropriate, customized treatments, products, and at‑home regimens for the correction and management of teenage acne, adult hormonal acne, acne scarring, pigment irregularities, age management, and sun damage.
Essential Functions
- Possess the ability to perform treatment, product, or cosmetic consultations.
- Provide a coordinated treatment plan for patients of all ages and skin types to help them achieve their skin goals and optimal outcomes.
- Accurately document EMR information for each patient visit, including all notes, photos, recommendations, services, and charges (including settings, peel layers, type, strength, and modalities).
- Establish and foster relationships within the office, in conjunction with marketing efforts and through referrals.
- Develop and implement strategic marketing initiatives.
- Educate and inform staff on services, trends, and promotions within our practice and the office(s) they serve.
- Follow and assist in the development or updating of written protocols as necessary.
- Work closely with providers in the office to coordinate treatment plans with their guidance, ensuring compliance and preventing contraindications.
- Set up aesthetic room at the start of each day per protocol.
- Maintain, sterilize, and sanitize the treatment room after each patient, in accordance with OSHA standards, and thoroughly prepare, restock, and clean the room weekly.
- Maintain equipment in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
- Be responsible for scheduling and coordinating future visits.
- Call new and established patients to follow up on their care.
- Drive patient loyalty and engagement by sending cards, reminders, etc.
- Be attentive to inventory levels, expiration dates, and request additional products as needed, so there is enough to recommend at the time of service.
Skills and Qualities
- Able to demonstrate compassion and caring when dealing with others, patients, and co‑workers.
- Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
- Able to travel between multiple locations across the region.
Experience and Education
- At least 2 years of hands‑on experience with an advanced level of education to perform the functions needed for a medical establishment.
- Advanced peel modalities, laser certification, and microneedling experience preferred.
