Role Description
As a Temporary Supply Sourcing Manager, you will drive the product development and commercialization process, partnering closely with Design, Merchandising, Technical Design, Sourcing, Raw Materials, offshore teams, vendors, and factories to deliver products that meet quality, aesthetic, cost, and delivery objectives.
This role requires a strategic and solutions-oriented professional who can manage multiple priorities while collaborating across cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product execution from development through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pre-season product development and commercialization activities for assigned product categories.
- Develop strategic style allocation plans that support vendor strategy, product quality, and cost optimization.
- Drive product engineering initiatives to achieve target costing while maintaining design integrity.
- Partner with Design and Raw Materials teams throughout the development process to ensure alignment.
- Review and validate product costing while identifying opportunities for cost improvements.
- Collaborate daily with vendors, factories, and offshore teams to ensure timely sample execution and development.
- Monitor development calendars, identify risks, and proactively communicate potential business impacts.
- Lead seasonal product reviews, line finalization meetings, and vendor discussions.
- Support vendor onboarding and help strengthen vendor capabilities.
- Partner with Technical Design, Quality Assurance, Merchandising, and Raw Materials teams to ensure successful product execution.
- Lead sourcing initiatives, vendor performance improvements, and continuous process enhancements.
- Prepare and maintain reports, KPIs, and product tracking using Excel and internal systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing, product development, apparel manufacturing, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, apparel costing, and product development.
- Experience collaborating with development teams, production teams, vendors, and factories.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and formulas.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the apparel, textile, or manufacturing industry is highly preferred.
