The Role: Master Garment Maker
This is not a factory position, nor is it a made-to-measure role. As a NEMO Master Garment Maker, you are expected to construct fully bespoke garments from scratch using only the finest techniques. Every stitch, every seam, and every structural element must be executed to absolute perfection.
You will receive precise measurements, fabric selections, design specifications, and construction details from NEMO’s elite stylists. Your responsibility is to turn that vision into reality—cutting, sewing, shaping, and finishing the suit to the highest standards of craftsmanship.
How It Works
Receive Client Details – You will be provided with the client’s measurements, fabric selection, and design specifications from a NEMO stylist.
Source Materials – You will acquire the specified materials for the suit (costs fully reimbursed by NEMO).
Construct the Suit – You are expected to create the garment entirely from scratch, using traditional bespoke methods. No pre-made patterns, no shortcuts.
Deliver to Stylist – Once the suit is completed, it is handed off to the NEMO stylist for inspection and approval.
Final Adjustments – The client is fitted, and if minor refinements are needed, the stylist will handle them. If major structural changes are required, the suit will be returned to you for final adjustments.
Requirements
Portfolio submission required. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
Minimum 10 years of experience in high-end bespoke tailoring.
Mastery of full bespoke suit construction, pattern drafting, hand-sewing, and full-canvas techniques.
Ability to work independently in your own atelier or workspace.
Deep knowledge of luxury fabrics including Loro Piana, Dormeuil, and Scabal.
Proven track record of working with ultra-high-net-worth clients.
Must be located in the New York City Metropolitan Area.
