Duties:
– Perform alterations and repairs on garments, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and replacing buttons or zippers
– Use sewing machines and other tools to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
– Follow patterns and instructions to create new garments or modify existing ones
– Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide excellent customer service
– Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
– Proven experience as a seamstress or tailor
– Proficiency in basic math for measuring and calculating fabric requirements
– Strong sewing skills, including the ability to operate sewing machines and perform various stitching techniques
– Knowledge of garment construction techniques and materials
– Familiarity with fashion retail trends and styles
– Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision
– Good communication skills to interact with customers and understand their requests
