As a Tailors/Seamstress, you will play a crucial role in creating and altering garments to meet customer specifications while providing exceptional customer service.
Duties
Operate sewing machines and other equipment to construct and alter garments according to design specifications.
Perform fittings and alterations on garments to ensure proper fit and style as per customer requests.
Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide recommendations for fabric choices, styles, and alterations.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
Utilize basic math skills to measure fabric accurately and calculate necessary adjustments for garment construction.
Assist in inventory management of fabrics, threads, and other sewing supplies.
Stay updated on current fashion trends and techniques to enhance skills and service offerings.
Qualifications
Proven experience in sewing, preferably in a fashion retail environment.
Proficiency in operating various types of sewing machines and tools.
Strong understanding of garment construction techniques.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabric cutting and garment fitting.
Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
