We are seeking a skilled, experienced, detail-oriented Master Tailor / Alterations Specialist to join our team at Gwynn’s of Mt. Pleasant! The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality alterations and tailoring services to our customers, ensuring their garments fit perfectly and meet their style preferences. Your expertise in garment construction and sewing will be essential in delivering exceptional customer service within a fashion retail environment.
Responsibilities
Perform alterations on a variety of garments, including dresses, suits, and casual wear, ensuring precise fitting and high-quality workmanship.
Operate sewing machines and other alteration equipment effectively and safely.
Consult with customers to understand their alteration needs and provide expert recommendations.
Measure customers accurately to determine the appropriate alterations required.
Maintain an organized workspace, keeping tools and materials in order.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues related to alterations.
Stay updated on current fashion trends to offer style advice when necessary.
Requirements
Proficient in sewing techniques with experience operating sewing machines.
Strong understanding of garment construction and fabric types.
Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations related to alterations.
Excellent attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
