Responsibilities
- Assist with sewing and garment construction tasks under the supervision of senior tailoring staff
- Operate sewing machines efficiently and safely to produce quality clothing items
- Support the fitting and finishing processes, including hemming, pressing, and attaching trims
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
- Help with customer requests related to alterations or customizations when needed
- Follow detailed instructions for garment assembly and quality standards
- Support inventory management by organizing fabrics, threads, and sewing supplies
Skills
- Experience or familiarity with sewing machines and basic sewing techniques
- Knowledge of garment construction processes and sewing best practices
- Strong customer service skills to assist shoppers with inquiries or minor alterations
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements, fabric cuts, and adjustments
- Understanding of fashion retail environment and the importance of presentation standards
- Attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes on all garments
- Enthusiasm for learning new skills in sewing, tailoring, and retail operations
