Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Technical Designer-Junior role based in New York, NY. The Technical Designer-Junior will assist in developing and maintaining technical packages, measurement specs, and fit standards across multiple product categories. Day-to-day responsibilities include supporting garment fittings, recording fit comments, and communicating corrections to pattern makers and factories. The role involves reviewing samples for construction, quality, and adherence to design intent, as well as updating technical documentation and tracking sample progress. The Technical Designer-Junior will collaborate with design, production, and sourcing teams to help ensure products meet brand standards and are delivered on schedule.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Technical Design and Garment Construction to support spec development and sample evaluation.
- Candidates should possess skills in Fitting and Pattern Making to assist with fit sessions and pattern adjustments.
- Candidates should possess an understanding of Architecture or structural concepts as they relate to form, fit, and construction.
- Foundational knowledge of apparel manufacturing processes and fabric behavior is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail, measurement accuracy, and documentation skills are required.
- Proficiency with technical design tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, spreadsheet software, PLM systems) is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple styles, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant education in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
