The role sits at the intersection of design and production, responsible for translating creative concepts into construction-ready garments through detailed technical specifications and hands-on fit execution. The position works cross-functionally with design, product development, production, pattern makers, and overseas or domestic manufacturers throughout the full product development lifecycle.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will create and maintain comprehensive tech packs covering flat sketches, measurements, grading specs, and construction details for women’s apparel. You will develop and document bills of materials, packaging specifications, care and content labels, carton markings, fold and hanger pack requirements, UPC information, and related production documentation. Accuracy and completeness in this documentation is critical, as it serves as the primary communication tool between the design team and manufacturing partners.

You will lead and participate in fit sessions on live fit models, evaluate samples against design intent and brand standards, and communicate fit corrections clearly to pattern makers and vendors. You will partner with pattern makers and manufacturers to review prototypes and pre-production samples, ensuring each stage meets established fit, quality, and construction standards before progressing. When construction or development issues arise across the product lifecycle, you will identify the problem, evaluate options, and propose solutions that balance aesthetic intent, functional performance, and cost targets.

Cross-functional collaboration is a consistent part of this role. You will work closely with design, product development, and production teams to maintain alignment on brand standards, development timelines, and cost parameters. Your knowledge of fabrics, trims, and garment construction techniques will be applied throughout the development process to support product intent and ensure consistency in durability, comfort, and overall performance.
