What You Will Do
As the Global Apparel Color Director, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and leading The North Face’s creative vision. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the success of our product and maintaining The North Face’s creative edge. Your role is responsible for delivering and executing global color direction on a seasonal and annual basis.

How You Will Make A Difference
Research and analyze global macro color trends, consumer insights & preferences, and competitor strategies to create seasonal color palettes and stories that align with the brand’s vision and identity.
Collaborate with design, merchandising, marketing, and sourcing teams to ensure color consistency, quality, and feasibility across all product categories, all regions and channels.
Manage and mentor a team of Color Designers and provide feedback and guidance on color selection, application, and execution.
Establish and maintain color standards and processes, including color naming, coding, testing, and approval.
Communicate and present color concepts and direction to internal and external stakeholders, such as senior management, vendors, and media.
Monitor and evaluate color performance and customer feedback, and provide recommendations for improvement and innovation.
Innovate in color creation process for new paths to color execution, dying and finishing.
Innovate in development of training in new color tools like use of DPC within the color team and partnering design teams.

What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in fashion design, textile design, color science, or or equivalent combination of education and experience
Generally ten years of progressive experience in color design with five years of managerial experience
Strong knowledge of color theory, psychology, and application, as well as color forecasting and analysis tools and methods.
Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and global environment.
Knowledge of CAD design applications such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office
Experience in research and creation of design packages and execution
Strong knowledge of aesthetic form and the ability to design for different consumers and end uses.
