Rivertown Theaters for the Performing Arts is looking for a contract Wig Designer / Wig Stylist to support multiple live stage productions throughout the season. This is a freelance, per-production role, perfect for a local designer looking for additional work with minimal hours.
Responsibilities
- Design, style, and maintain wigs for theatrical productions
- Collaborate with directors and costume teams on character looks
- Conduct cast fittings and ensure proper wig preparation
- Maintain and restyle wigs during rehearsals and performance runs
- Assist with backstage support during tech week as needed
Qualifications
- Experience with theatrical wigs, hair styling, or cosmetology preferred
- Strong styling and maintenance skills (synthetic and/or human hair)
- Organized, collaborative, and able to meet production deadlines
Position Details
- Contract / freelance (per show)
- Compensation based on number of wigs and scope of work
- Evening and weekend availability during tech and performance periods required
