Client: Luxury Fashion Brand

Rate: £150 per day PAYE

Contract: ASAP – March 2027

PURPOSE

To assist in the delivery of the Trade Compliance Strategy and ensure day-to-day compliance with cross-border requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Customs Compliance Administration

• Advise customs brokers on clearance instructions, including commodity codes, Customs Procedure Codes (CPCs), and any specific import restrictions for products.

• Provide accurate commodity codes for Luxury Fashion Brand products to the business and associated carriers.

• Ensure accurate customs data is included on invoices submitted to authorities:

o Liaise with internal teams including Sourcing, Product Development, and Global Logistics to understand product and shipping requirements.

o Provide accurate data to the business.

• Develop a working knowledge of the IT software solutions used by the business, namely MIC and SAP.

• Manage CITES/non-CITES documentation and processes across the business, advising on requirements.

• Maintain metrics reflecting key Trade Compliance areas, including duty spend, number of customs entries, and customs audits.

Preferential Origin / Free Trade Agreement Management

• Manage Luxury Fashion Brand’s process for requesting LTSDs from vendors.

• Audit and review current LTSDs to ensure vendors remain compliant.

• Investigate opportunities for Luxury Fashion Brand to utilise Free Trade Agreements and provide accurate advice on preferential origin requirements to the business.

Projects

• Assist in projects aimed at improving customs compliance, automating processes, and optimising duty payments.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

• Compliant customs submissions into key countries, including the UK and Italy.

• Maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

• Successful continuation of EU and UK preference of goods.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Good academic qualifications.

• Institute of Export Exams (or equivalent).

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Basic understanding of international trade, import duties, commodity codes, Incoterms, and customs warehousing preferred.

• Logistics or customs brokerage experience preferred.

• Good administrative skills.

• Basic SAP knowledge preferred.

• Intermediate Excel skills.

• Good standard of English.

• Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.

• Strong communication skills, particularly with commercial functions.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Demonstrates initiative and the ability to meet deadlines in a diverse environment.

• Italian language skills would be an advantage.
