Role Summary:
The role of Life Style Sports Trainee Merchandiser is an entry level position and offers an excellent opportunity for an energetic individual to join a focused team in a fast paced and rewarding environment. As the Trainee Merchandiser, you will be providing support to the Merchandising team in a role that offers a detailed introduction to the Merchandising function. The key responsibilities for the Trainee Merchandiser are managing intake of stock into the business, liaising with our Brand partners and our warehouse, performing analysis, and recommending actions. You will have an eye for detail and bring new ideas to the buying and merchandising process.
Role Responsibilities:
Stock Management:
- Managing intake for your category:
- Working with Nike, Adidas, Under Armour and our other brands to arrange intake of stock as it becomes available through the call off process
- Tracking deliveries from Brands to Central warehouse
- Following up with brands on missed deliveries
- Liaising with the warehouse on a daily basis:
- Following up on allocation & delivery queries and resolving any issues
- Managing weekly communication documents between Brand Centre and the Warehouse
- Ensuring delivery conformance into the warehouse from the brands, and liaising with the suppliers when issues arise
Reporting & Analysis:
- General administrative duties
- Working with suppliers to ensure product details are correct
- Sense checking all lines have the correct information, barcodes, pricing, labelling, margins and communicating any changes to the buyers
- Reviewing sales data and recommending appropriate actions
- Analysis of product size ratios to maximise future buys
Key Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a Fashion or Sports Retail Omni-Channel Environment
- Experience in use of Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., D365) BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Business Objects)
- Strong numeric, data/analytical, and organisational skills

- Ability to work cross functionally across several teams, both internal and external in order to deliver results
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to understand implications on the business of decisions taken
- Strong analytical and reporting skills and attention to detail
- Highly organized, can work to tight deadlines and under time pressure
