Full Job Description

The Gordon Company is seeking qualified freelance contractors to conduct jewelry liquidation and promotional events throughout North American jewelry stores. Applicants must have extensive management, sales, and promotional experience (at least five years of high-end retail jewelry management experience), and must be customer-focused with proficiency in Excel, Word, and written and oral communications. Accredited gemological and jewelry training and certification are pluses.

Flexible work schedule of 11 to 22 weeks per year. Ideal for jewelers who want to work hard when they work, and play hard when they’re off. If you like a lot of freedom most of the year, but still want to work, earn good money, and have new and exciting experiences, this may be just what you’re looking for.The position requires an average of 11 consecutive weeks away from home per assignment. Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Jewelry Liquidation Consultant to assist our company in managing and executing jewelry liquidation projects. As a consultant, you will be responsible for assessing, valuing, and facilitating the sale of jewelry inventory for clients looking to liquidate their assets. Responsibilities:

1. Jewelry Appraisal and Inventory Assessment:

– Conduct thorough assessments of jewelry inventory, including gemstones, precious metals, and other materials.

– Determine the value of jewelry pieces based on market trends, condition, and quality.

– Identify any unique or high-value items that may require specialized marketing or sales strategies.

– Prepare detailed inventory reports, including descriptions, photographs, and appraised values.

2. Liquidation Strategy and Planning:

– Develop customized liquidation strategies based on the client’s goals, timeline, and market conditions.

– Advise clients on the most effective sales channels, such as auctions, online platforms, or direct sales.

– Create marketing plans to attract potential buyers and generate interest in the jewelry inventory.

– Collaborate with the client to set realistic expectations and establish pricing strategies to maximize returns.

3. Sales Execution and Management:

– Implement the agreed-upon liquidation strategy, coordinating all aspects of the sales process.

– Manage the marketing and advertising efforts to reach potential buyers and generate leads.

– Conduct negotiations with potential buyers to secure the best possible prices for the jewelry inventory.

– Oversee the logistics of the sales process, including shipping, insurance, and payment collection.

– Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards throughout the liquidation process.

4. Client Communication and Reporting:

– Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on the progress of the liquidation project.

– Address any concerns or questions raised by the client, offering professional advice and guidance.
