What you’ll do
As the General Manager of a Regional Distribution Center, you will lead and oversee all aspects of facility operations to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality results. You’ll drive strategic direction, develop high-performing teams, and ensure operational excellence while supporting Walmart’s mission to serve customers and communities.
Key Responsibilities

Lead Facility Operations:
Develop, communicate, and execute the facility business plan to achieve key performance goals across production, quality, safety, and cost. Identify and implement strategic improvements to optimize complex distribution operations. - Drive Financial Performance:
Manage the facility’s financial performance by approving budgets, monitoring expenses, optimizing asset utilization, and analyzing operational and business reports to ensure efficiency and profitability. - Workforce Planning & Development:
Review and approve staffing strategies to align with business demands. Ensure timely hiring, onboarding, and workforce readiness to meet performance goals. - Ensure Safety & Compliance:
Champion a culture of safety and compliance by ensuring adherence to all company, regulatory, and logistics standards. Develop and maintain processes, procedures, and documentation that support operational excellence. - Resolve Issues & Drive Decisions:
Address associate, supplier, and customer concerns by conducting thorough investigations and making informed, fact-based decisions. Collaborate with cross-functional partners as needed. - Lead & Develop Talent:
Provide direction to the leadership team by setting clear goals, monitoring performance, and delivering actionable feedback. Identify development opportunities and create pathways for growth, learning, and advancement. - Community Engagement:
Serve as a representative of Walmart in the Douglas community by participating in local organizations, supporting charitable initiatives, and promoting company programs and events. - Communicate Effectively:
Engage stakeholders at all levels through clear, impactful written and verbal communication.

The annual salary range for this position is $180,000.00 – $270,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications…

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Financial Management, Production/Operations Management); and 3 years experience in a senior management role within an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide OR 2 years experience as a Walmart Logistics Assistant General Manager supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing associates; managing associate workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of associates OR 5 years experience in a senior management role as an operations/distribution/logistics/retail environment, supervising, evaluating, mentoring, and developing managers/supervisors; managing workload; and participating in the hiring and promotion of employees facility-wide
Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
