Nerige Story is a saree brand rooted in nostalgia, reviving vintage-inspired weaves and bringing back the kind of sarees many of us grew up seeing. We work closely with artisans and weaving clusters to create pieces that feel timeless, familiar, and deeply personal. We are a fast growing D2C business and we are looking for a Vendor sourcing executive to manage and grow our new vendor relationships. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a company that is on a rapid growth trajectory. The role will report directly to the founders.

Key Responsibilities

1. Vendor Onboarding & Sourcing

  • Identify and onboard new vendors, weavers, and suppliers
  • Build a strong network across weaving clusters (Gadwal, Kanjeevaram, etc.)
  • Evaluate vendors based on quality, reliability, and alignment with Nerige’s aesthetic

2. Vendor Management

  • Maintain day-to-day communication with existing vendors
  • Ensure timelines, quality standards, and commitments are met
  • Build long-term, trust-based relationships

3. Product Coordination

  • Work closely with vendors on:
  • designs
  • colour combinations
  • custom developments
  • Ensure final output aligns with Nerige’s brand vision

4. Quality Control

  • Monitor product quality at various stages
  • Flag inconsistencies and ensure corrections
  • Maintain consistency across batches

5. Operations & Follow-ups

  • Track production timelines
  • Coordinate dispatches and deliveries
  • Maintain basic vendor records and documentation

Who We’re Looking For

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Someone who is organised and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working with artisans and vendors
  • Interest in textiles, sarees, or craft is a big plus
  • Ability to travel occasionally for vendor visits

Bonus (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in sourcing, production, or vendor management
  • Familiarity with Indian textiles/weaving clusters
  • Prior experience in a fashion or D2C brand

Qualifications

  • Self motivated and an inclination to work independently
  • Live and breathe social media
  • Strong communication skills
  • An aptitude for social media marketing
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite ( Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Bachelors Degree
