Visual Merchandiser / Creative Direction — Home Décor (Part-Time, Min. 1 Day/Week)
About the Role
We’re a growing lifestyle boutique — apparel, accessories, and home décor across two
floors — looking for a visual merchandiser with a sharp eye and a strong point of view to
help elevate the presentation of our downstairs home décor space. This is a part-time role
to start (minimum one day per week), with real potential to grow into a larger, ongoing
partnership for the right person.
We already have a visual merchandiser handling the upstairs clothing and accessories —
this role is focused specifically on downstairs. You’ll work directly with the owner to refresh
displays, style vignettes, and bring seasonal concepts to life in that space. Experience with
clothing/accessories styling isn’t required, but it’s a plus if you have it.
What You’ll Do
- Style and refresh home décor displays and tablescapes on a recurring basis (seasonal transitions, new arrivals, promotional moments)
- Bring a cohesive creative direction to how décor is presented — vignettes that tell a story, not just shelves that are “filled”
- Advise on layout, color pairing, texture, and product grouping to maximize both visual impact and sell-through
- Collaborate on seasonal concepts and help translate them into physical displays
- Provide light creative guidance that can inform photo/video content shot in the downstairs space (not required to produce content yourself)
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience styling home décor — retail visual merchandising, interior styling,prop styling, or similar
- A strong, confident aesthetic point of view, balanced with the flexibility to work within an established brand look and feel
- Comfort working independently with minimal oversight — we’ll give you the vision and trust you to execute
- Ability to work efficiently in a set window of time (this is not a slow, exploratory process you’ll need to move with purpose during on-site visits)Reliable, professional, and detail-oriented
Nice to Have
- Experience in a boutique or small-retail environment (vs. big-box)
- An eye for photo-ready styling, even if content creation isn’t part of the role
- Familiarity with seasonal retail cycles
Details
- Part-time / contract, minimum one day per week to start
- On-site work required
- Compensation based on experience — open to discussing per-visit rate or project rate
- Room to grow into a larger, more regular role as the partnership develops
