About Spinelli Kilcollin

Spinelli Kilcollin is a Los Angeles–based luxury jewelry brand known for its iconic linked rings, clean architectural designs, and commitment to responsible craftsmanship. Founded in 2010, our collections are handcrafted in downtown Los Angeles, with a focus on creating a positive, long-term impact on our industry, our community, and our customers.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a Visual Merchandiser who operates beyond traditional retail display, someone who can translate conceptual worlds into physical, buildable environments. This role sits at the intersection of Creative, Merchandising, and Production, transforming high-level creative direction into spatial experiences, fixtures, and retail environments that are both visually compelling and executable.

The ideal candidate combines conceptual thinking with technical execution, capable of developing ideas into detailed plans, sourcing materials and vendors, and ensuring that every environment reflects Spinelli Kilcollin’s design language and brand identity.

This is not a styling role, it is a world-building, system-driven, and production-aware position, responsible for both defining the vision and enabling it to scale.

Role Responsibilities

Spatial Design & Technical Development

  • Translate creative concepts into spatial layouts, fixture designs, and retail environments
  • Produce CAD drawings, technical plans, and visual references (SketchUp, Rhino, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Develop material palettes and finish charts aligned with concept and brand
  • Understand scale, proportion, and how objects exist within space
  • Bridge concept and execution through clear, buildable design documentation

Production & Vendor Execution

  • Source and manage fabricators, vendors, and production partners
  • Oversee the process from:
  • Concept with Creative → prototyping → fabrication → installation
  • Ensure feasibility of designs through material knowledge and construction understanding
  • Manage timelines, budgets, and production constraints without compromising creative intent
  • Be hands-on in ensuring things are actually made correctly, not just designed

VM Systems, Packs & Scalable Rollout

Develop comprehensive VM packs and guidelines, including:

  • Store layouts
  • Fixture specifications
  • Material references
  • Styling direction

Create “North Star” VM packs that define the highest-level creative expression of a concept:

  • Establish the ideal execution of a retail environment or installation
  • Serve as the benchmark for all adaptations across stores and partners

Translate North Star concepts into scalable, adaptable guidelines for:

  • Retail stores
  • Pop-ups
  • Wholesale partners

Ensure all outputs maintain:

  • Creative integrity of the original concept
  • Clarity for execution across different contexts and constraints
  • Act as the bridge between concept-level creative direction and system-wide implementation, enabling consistency without losing impact

Concept Translation Across Touchpoints

Take a single concept or narrative and translate it across:

  • Physical retail environments
  • Fixtures and displays
  • Materials and textures
  • Visual storytelling elements
  • Adapt and evolve concepts depending on context while maintaining integrity
  • Think in multi-dimensional brand expression, not isolated displays

Brand Expression & Cultural Awareness

Strong understanding of avant-garde, fashion-driven retail environments and ability to balance:

  • Art and experimentation
  • Commercial clarity
  • Bring unexpected references and spatial ideas, not just trend-based VM execution
  • Ensure all environments align with Spinelli Kilcollin’s visual identity and design ethos

Tools & Technical Proficiency

  • CAD / 3D: SketchUp, Rhino, AutoCAD (or similar)
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Rendering / visualization tools are a plus
  • Familiarity with production documentation and material specification
  • Figma
  • Notion for project management

Ideal Profile

  • 5–8+ years in visual merchandising, spatial design, exhibition design, or retail environments
  • Proven experience taking projects from concept to physical execution
  • Strong technical and production knowledge (materials, fabrication, vendors)
  • Experience developing VM guidelines or scalable systems across multiple locations
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to balance creativity and feasibility
  • Strong communicator, able to translate ideas across creative and production teams
  • Experience in fashion, luxury, or concept-driven retail environments preferred
  • Self-directed, resourceful, and comfortable operating across multiple projects

Compensation

$95,000–110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Perks & Benefits

  • Paid Company Holidays
  • PTO
  • Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits
  • 401(k) + Matching
  • Profit Sharing + Annual Bonus
  • Jewelry Allowance
