About the Role: We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Wholesale Planner to support a growing apparel business. This role partners closely with the Sales team to drive revenue, optimize inventory, and improve profitability across wholesale accounts. The ideal candidate will lead merchandise planning, financial forecasting, and in-season analysis while providing data-driven insights to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead monthly forecasting and budgeting in partnership with Sales, aligning financial goals with merchandise strategies by account.
  • Develop and manage seasonal merchandise plans to support sales and margin objectives across wholesale partners.
  • Own open-to-buy planning, identifying risks and opportunities to improve inventory productivity.
  • Monitor in-season inventory flow and available-to-sell inventory to maximize sales and reduce excess stock.
  • Create weekly reporting on sales, inventory, and retail performance by style, color, and classification.
  • Conduct hindsight analysis and apply findings to future forecasts and assortment plans.
  • Review account performance and recommend strategies to address slow-moving or excess inventory.
  • Support market preparation with account recaps, historical performance, and financial summaries.
  • Review buys and recommend inventory strategies to support updated forecasts.
  • Present performance updates and inventory strategies to internal stakeholders.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Merchandising, Production, and Logistics to ensure alignment and execution.
  • Build and maintain planning tools, dashboards, and ad hoc reporting as business needs evolve.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in planning, merchandising, or inventory management, preferably in wholesale apparel or fashion retail.
  • Strong experience with open-to-buy management, seasonal planning, and account-level forecasting.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP or wholesale planning platforms is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of retail math and key performance indicators such as sell-through, stock-to-sales, margin, and turns.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to turn data into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
