We have a fantastic new opportunity for an Essentials Designer to join a global business working across multiple brands.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing seasonal ranges for multiple global womenswear and menswear brands, creating high-quality essentials and soft accessories that align with the brand’s aesthetic and meet customer expectations. This role requires a deep understanding of essentials design, as well as garment and soft accessories construction alongside the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
You will be designing hats, scarves, gloves, loungewear and jersey underwear.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
Creating original and commercial designs predominantlyfor womenswearbrands, including the design and development of underwear, loungewear, nightwear, gifting and soft accessories
Designing capsule ranges ofseasonal menswearessentials and soft accessories, including the design and development of underwear, loungewear, nightwear, gifting and soft accessories
Participate in the planning and development of seasonal collections, ensuring they are cohesive and aligned with the brand’s vision
Ensuring collections are on-brand, trend-forward and commercially viable
Supporting the Head of Department to ensure critical path deadlines are met from creative concept to completion
Source, develop and select high-quality fabrics and yarns that meet design and production requirements
Develop and maintain an understanding of current and future trends in essentials and accessories
Produce detailed technical specifications and sketches
Conduct fit sessions and sample reviews with technical team
Presenting collections to senior management
Analyse market / sales data and consumer feedback to inform design decisions
Constant communication and relationship building with factories, mills and in-country teams
Person Specifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field
At least 1-2 years’ experience at a ‘Designer’ Level within essentials design
Proven track record of designing successful and commercially viable collections across accessories/essentials
High work ethic, integrity and reliability with a “hands on” attitude
Excellent technical drawing and sketching skills
Highly proficient in CAD software (e.g. Adobe Suite)
Good knowledge of fabrics, textiles, and production processes
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Creative yet commercial with a fashion forward handwriting
Collaborative team player with strong time management and a clear understanding of how to prioritise well
Adaptable and flexible with a willingness to learn and grow
Someone who can work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
