ABOUT THE ROLE
JAST Apparel is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Design Assistant to support one of our proprietary lifestyle brands — a feminine, elevated label rooted in a boho-artisan spirit. The collection is known for its relaxed silhouettes, artisan-inspired details, natural fabrications, and a warm, eclectic color palette that appeals to the fashion-forward, free-spirited woman. This role supports the full design development cycle, from seasonal inspiration through production-ready handoff, and is ideal for a designer who is passionate about expressive, story-driven product.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist the Lead Designer in developing year around collections aligned with the brand’s feminine, boho-artisan aesthetic and lifestyle positioning
• Create and update flat sketches, tech packs, and spec sheets using Adobe Illustrator and/or CLO 3D
• Conduct trend research and build seasonal mood boards, color palettes, and fabric direction presentations
• Coordinate fabric and trim submissions with the sourcing and production teams
• Manage sample tracking, review sample comments, and update revision logs
• Attend fit sessions and document comments for production revisions
• Organize and maintain design files, seasonal archives, and reference libraries
• Assist in preparing line review presentations for internal stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS
• 4–5 years of experience in fashion design or design assistance
• Strong portfolio demonstrating feminine, elevated, or artisan-inspired aesthetic sensibility
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Solid understanding of garment construction, fabric types, and trim development
• Excellent eye for color, print, and trend direction in the contemporary-to-moderate market
• Strong organizational and communication skills in a fast-paced team environment
• Degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Merchandising, or related field preferred
