No two stores are alike, and that allows for creativity and flexibility in the buying roles here. What fashion means to a rodeo town like Liberal, KS is different than a summer vacation hub like Traverse City, MI. Glik’s is seeking a data & fashion-driven assistant buyer to support in the tasks of a senior buyer.
About the Role:
- Assist in driving the business forward by purchasing the best possible product for our varying markets
- Manage & analyze product performance by pulling and drawing key takeaways from various reports
- Present on category performance and the “why” behind sales trends
- Attend line reviews at various markets and in the home office to aid in assortment decisions
- Create items & POs within Glik’s internal system to hand off to vendors
- Make data driven allocation decisions to ensure stores are receiving the product they need
- Set prices and promotions using understanding of company margin goals & customer purchasing habits
- Conduct trend & market research to ensure Glik’s continues as a fashion leader
- Communicate with vendors & Glik’s stores on a daily basis with a relationship-building mentality
About You:
- A lover of fashion and trends
- Eagerness to grow analytical abilities and our position as a fashion leader in each market
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, primarily Excel & Outlook
- Ability to manage various timelines at once, thinking both on your feet and planning into the future
- Can think critically with a high attention to detail
- Strong mathematical skills, especially as they relate to retail
- Can interpret data to draw key takeaways from tangible performance
- Loves working in a team environment where interpersonal skills are important
- Bachelor's degree required & experience in a buying role and/or the retail industry is a plus
