FOOTWEAR BUYING ASSISTANT

Location: Beaverton, Oregon
Job Type: Contract
Compensation Range: $19 – 20 per hour

We are seeking a dynamic Buying Assistant to collaborate across cross-functional teams, leverage key retail metrics, and turn strategic intent into winning product assortments. If you bring 1-2 years of merchandising experience and a passion for product, this is your chance to make a powerful impact with an industry-leading brand!

Responsibilities:

• Translate strategic intent into action against future and current in-season assortments, using historical data, analytics, and Lead/Senior Buyers’ direction to action against business trends.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams in Planning, Allocation, Lead Buying, and Operations, using business reporting to drive tactical actions and manage a healthy, brand-enhancing, revenue-driving portfolio.
• Become an expert within multiple systems as a critical action point to management of a healthy, brand enhancing, revenue driving portfolio.
• Participate in seasonal assortment and buy reviews each quarter, as well as in-season trading to influence actions and optimize growth with your partners.

Qualifications:

• Strong affinity for current market trends and how the client’s product can continue to be a style leader in the marketplace.
• 1-2 years of footwear, apparel, equipment, or relevant consumer product buying and/or merchandising experience (retail/buying specifically, NOT visual merchandising).
• Understanding of common retail and/or digital profit-based metrics such as sell-through, turn, ASP, UPT, etc.

Required Technology & Tools:

• Advanced background in Excel, basic Microsoft Office Suite, systems proficiency for assortment management.

Nice to haves:

• Bachelor’s degree highly preferred; ability to travel up to 20%.
