The Role

Mandaley is looking for a Head of Merchandising to join our team full-time in Stockholm and lead our global merchandising strategy. Mandaley, home to the premium fashion brands Soft Goat and Malina, we create contemporary, high-quality fashion with a strong focus on craftsmanship, sustainability, and timeless design. Our teams collaborate closely to deliver exceptional products and customer experiences globally.

In this role, you will oversee assortment planning and go-to-market execution in close collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will ensure our collections are both commercially successful and aligned with Soft Goat’s and Malina’s brand vision and customer needs across all markets.

Leading our Merchandising function, you will use your expertise in contemporary fashion and consumer insights to optimize product strategy, drive profitability, and elevate the customer experience. This role reports directly to the CFO.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead Soft Goat’s and Malina’s global merchandising strategy, aligning product assortment with brand vision, pricing architecture, and business goals in close collaboration with Production Director, Design Director and CFO/CEO.
  • Own and manage the global line plan, balancing product depth, pricing, and SKU efficiency across categories
  • Create strategic collection briefs and tools to support sell-in, storytelling, and seasonal planning across all channels together with PD/DD
  • Build and maintain range plans by category, price point, and region to ensure an optimal assortment mix, together with PD/DD
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle — from concept to post-season analysis — ensuring market relevance and commercial success, including seasonal return analysis and product-specific feedback to inform future actions
  • Use data and insights to identify assortment gaps and opportunities
  • Guide product selection and buying decisions across channels, ensuring a cohesive and compelling offer
  • Establish and manage seasonal budgets based on sales targets, stock levels, and risk assessments
  • Oversee carry-over and core product programs, optimizing inventory levels and continuity
  • Define and communicate seasonal buying guidelines across all sales channels
  • Lead demand forecasting and seasonal planning to meet business and financial targets
  • Define and implement inventory strategies across retail, e-commerce, and wholesale
  • Direct stock management, in-season allocations, and markdown strategies to maximize performance
  • Contribute to Soft Goat’s and Malina’s sustainability ambitions, with a focus on responsible product strategies and inventory management in close collaboration with Product Directors

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field
  • 8–10+ years of experience in merchandising, buying, and planning, preferably within contemporary or premium fashion
  • Strong analytical and strategic mindset with a data-driven approach
  • Solid understanding of product lifecycle management and global retail markets
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and develop teams
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive sales and execute merchandising strategies across multiple channels
  • Experience working with merchandising systems, ERP platforms, BI-tools, and Excel
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing company environment
  • International experience and understanding of diverse customer behaviours is a plus

Additional Information

This is a full-time position based at Mandaley’s Stockholm office, with a preferred start date as soon as possible.
